I started working when I was 13 years old as a dishwasher/kitchen help at the Al San Center. I then worked as a bus boy on Electric Ave for the LaMonica Group – Claudio’s Italian Bistro, Bandito’s, Manhattan Club, and Coconut Joe’s.

After graduating high school and completing the Mechanics High School Program, I immediately worked with General Motors for 10 years as an Automotive Service Technician. While working with GM, I attended SAIT and graduated with a Red Seal Journeyman Automotive Technician License.

In 1994, I opened Extra-Tech Automotive Ltd, my own service facility in SE Calgary. For most of my working life, I have been connected with the automotive service trade and have focused my life on it.

Doris Barbieri

Co-Owner / Office Manager

Hi, I’m Doris Barbieri, proud co-owner and Office Manager at Extra-Tech Automotive in Calgary, Alberta. Since founding our family-run auto repair shop in 1994 with my husband, Gianni Barbieri, I’ve been the one behind the scenes keeping everything organized—from bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting to customer service and team support.

I truly love what I do and take pride in helping our customers feel confident every time they visit. Whether I’m greeting someone at the counter or catching up over the phone, I value building long-term relationships with our fantastic community. Many of our customers have been with us for decades, and it’s a joy to watch their families grow right alongside ours.

When I’m not balancing the books or supporting our incredible team, you’ll find me spending time with my family, grandchildren, and friends. My passion for people and organization helps keep Extra-Tech Automotive running smoothly—and ensures our customers always receive the honest, high-quality service Calgary drivers deserve.

Abriana Romeo

Reservationist

As an 18-year-old reservationist at a busy automotive shop, I’m learning something new every single day. I take pride in helping customers book their appointments smoothly and making sure their experience starts off on the right note.

From organizing schedules to answering questions and directing clients to the right services, I love being part of the team that keeps everything running efficiently. I’m always eager to learn more about the automotive industry, and I enjoy working closely with the advisors and technicians to make sure customers feel confident and supported.

Even at a young age, I take my role seriously and work hard to bring a friendly, professional touch to every interaction.

Bill Walling

Service Advisor

Bill has been in the automotive industry for over 40 years. He takes pleasure in assisting clients and using the knowledge he has acquired to help navigate the vehicle repair process and ensure the job gets done right the first time.

Bill enjoys spending time with family and getting outdoors as much as possible, with fishing being a big passion of his.

Sean Shrewsbury

Service Advisor

I have been at Extra-Tech Automotive for 1 year as a Service Advisor. As a passionate car enthusiast, learning the ins and outs of different vehicles and sharing that knowledge with others, I love helping people get their cars fixed the right way the first time.

Whether it’s offering maintenance advice or helping someone find the perfect parts, I love making sure you leave satisfied with our service. I moved 2 years ago from Ottawa, Ontario, to call Calgary my new home. I can’t wait to help you with your vehicle at our shop!

Ryan Carson

Shop Foreman / Senior Automotive Technician

With 26 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry, I serve as the Shop Foreman at Extra-Tech Automotive. Over the years, I’ve built a strong reputation for technical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to quality service.

I oversee daily operations in the shop, ensuring every vehicle is diagnosed and repaired efficiently and accurately. My focus is on maintaining high standards of workmanship while supporting our team to deliver reliable, client-focused solutions.

Zach Dusoswa

Senior Automotive Technician

Our senior technician, Zach, is a fearless diagnostic expert who proudly services vehicles of all makes, models, and sizes in our shop.

His career began in 2014, inspired by his grandfather’s legacy in the trade. Zach’s dedication paid off when he graduated at the top of his class in 2020, receiving his Journeyman Certificate and the Dean’s Award.

Born in Lethbridge, Zach has spent his whole life in Southern Alberta, calling Calgary home for over 25 years. On his days off, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, reading, writing, and gathering with friends and family.

Mohammad Kammouni

Senior Apprentice

I’m a Senior Apprentice working toward becoming a fully licensed technician, with a long-term goal of growing into a leadership role in the automotive industry. I’m committed to improving every day—building my skills, expanding my knowledge, and staying up to date as vehicle technology continues to evolve.

I take pride in hands-on learning and developing the expertise needed to diagnose and repair today’s modern vehicles. Outside of the shop, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, as well as working on my own cars. I’m proud to be part of the Extra-Tech Automotive team and excited about the future ahead.

Terran White

3rd Year Apprentice

I am a SAIT graduate and soon to be a third-year apprentice. I am driven by a passion for precision and hands-on work. Each day in the shop, I have the opportunity to learn and refine my skills.

When I am not at work, I like to drive through the mountains and enjoy outdoor activities like fishing and sightseeing or working on my cars. Extra-Tech feels like a second home to me, and I am very proud to be part of the team.
